Child Psychology

Our psychologists who work with our child and teenager clients have specific skills, training and interests in working with a range of psychological issues seen in children and young people aged 2 to 18.

Psychological therapy with children and young people follows evidence-based treatment frameworks such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for anxiety and, particularly with younger aged child clients, may include play-based practice of social, communication, assertiveness and coping skills.

GOALS Psychology has a range of resources available when working with child clients which your psychologist may recommend for parents/caregivers to practice between sessions to support progress towards your child’s specific therapy goals. Our Psychologists who offer Assessments including Autism Assessment, ADHD Assessment, Cognitive Assessments, Learning Difficulties Assessments (eg dyslexia), will also recommend specific therapies for your child upon initial appointment.
