ADHD

Our psychologists are experienced in working with clients with neurodiversity, including ADHD. They have specific skills, training and interests in working with a range of associated psychological issues seen in clients with ADHD.

All psychological therapy follows evidence-based frameworks, is neurodiversity affirming and strengths-focused. Initial sessions will collaboratively establish clear therapy goals to be worked towards in subsequent sessions. 

​Psychology appointments with younger aged child clients may include play-based practice of various social, communication, assertiveness and coping skills that are relevant to collaboratively established goals. Psychology appointments with teenager, young adult and older adult clients may work through issues presenting throughout various life stages such as adjustment difficulties of navigating further study, dating, social and family relationships, independence, career direction, employment difficulties and general lifestyle overwhelm. 

GOALS Psychology has a range of resources available when working with clients with ADHD and your psychologist may recommend practice of specific skills between sessions to support progress towards you and/or your child’s specific therapy goals.
